Analytical metric of realities and prospects of human resources development as an element of defense sufficiency of states

Keywords: human resource, defense sufficiency, foreign countries, forecast, working population

Abstract

Purpose: is to highlight the problem of the heterogeneity of human resource dynamics in terms of the proportion of the population of working age, which may have a negative impact on the defence sufficiency of states in the long run.

Method: analysis; synthesis; comparison; formalization and evaluation of the material; abstraction and conjunctural analysis (thinking).

Findings: extrapolation of the age dependency ratios of some countries to 2029, which, combined with a comparison of the projected values of the dynamics and rates of change of human resources, made it possible to identify countries in which the human factor could be a threat/impetus to reduce/increase defence sufficiency in the long term.

Theoretical implications: is to convey to the reader the importance of comparing the dynamics of human resources with the proportion of the population of working age when planning long-term defence policy.

Paper type: theoretical, descriptive, practical, methodical.
