International Cooperation as a Key Factor in the Development and Expansion of Armed Forces in the Post-Crisis Period: Mechanisms for Determining Capabilities

Abstract

Purpose. To substantiate the importance of international cooperation in the development and expansion of the Armed Forces in the post-crisis period: to identify its key areas, problems and trends of transformation, taking into account the requirements of collective security and the need to strengthen national defence capabilities.

Method. Analysis, synthesis, comparison, formalization and evaluation of the material, abstraction and conjectural analysis (thinking).

Findings. The key areas of international cooperation in the development and expansion of the Armed Forces in the post-crisis period have been identified, the main problems and risks of such cooperation have been analysed, and strategic guidelines for its transformation have been substantiated with the aim of strengthening national defence capabilities.

Theoretical implications. The results can be used to improve approaches to defence planning and management of Armed Forces resources, in the formulation of state security and defence strategies, the development of mechanisms for international cooperation in the security sector, as well as in scientific and educational programmes on national and international security issues.
