Article Processing Charge

The standard article processing charge (APC) is USD 40 per article, regardless of manuscript length, provided that the submission complies with the journal’s formatting requirements. The APC is payable only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.

About the Journal

The scientific journal “Social Development and Security” is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes the results of scientific research in the field of National Security and Defense. The journal operates in accordance with the current requirements for inclusion in the List of Scholarly Professional Publications of Ukraine.

The journal aims to develop scientifically grounded approaches to ensuring national security, supporting the functioning of the security and defense sector, and improving the effectiveness of managerial, organizational, and technological solutions in this field. It also takes into account the experience of foreign countries and the activities of supranational security organizations, in particular NATO and the European Union, while promoting international scientific communication and the integration of Ukrainian science into the global academic and educational space.

The journal covers the following scientific areas:

  • K2 – Border Security;
  • K3 – National Security by specific domains;
  • K4 – Information Security Management;
  • K5 – Military Management by branches of the armed forces;
  • K6 – Military Support, Logistics, and Sustainment;
  • K7 – Weapons and Military Equipment in the context of security systems;
  • K8 – Fire Safety;
  • K10 – Civil Security;
  • F5 – Cybersecurity and Information Protection.

Types of Publications

The journal publishes:

  • original research articles;
  • review articles;
  • analytical and policy-oriented papers.

Submission Priorities

Priority is given to studies that:

  • present a clearly defined research problem and methodology;
  • are based on modern quantitative and qualitative methods;
  • include empirical results or well-grounded theoretical models;
  • have practical relevance for the security and defense sector.

The journal encourages interdisciplinary research in the field of security. However, it does not accept narrowly specialized engineering or technical papers that are not directly related to the functioning of security and defense systems.
