Military human resource reserve: international practices and the Ukrainian context

Abstract

Purpose: analysis of the legal regulation of the military reserve of human resources of the world's leading countries, study of the experience and possibilities of its adaptation to the needs of Ukraine in the context of modern challenges.

Design/Method/Approach: theoretical analysis, qualitative analysis, comparative analysis.

Research results: the author analyses the legal framework and practices of forming the military human resources reserve in the leading countries of the world and offers recommendations for Ukraine.

Theoretical value of the study: the results of the study expand the theoretical knowledge on the organisation and functioning of the military reserve.

Practical value of the study: the study developed recommendations for further improving the manning of the defence forces.

Originality/value of the study: the article provides a comparative analysis of the formation and functioning of the military human resources reserve in the USA, Turkey, South Korea and Israel.  

Limitations of the study/Future research: improving the efficiency of manning the defence forces with reservists of the military operational reserve.
