Historical development of camouflage drawings of means disguise in Ukraine
Abstract
Purposе: To study the historical development of camouflage patterns for concealment means in Ukraine and their impact on the effectiveness of military personnel camouflage.
Method: A review of historical data from open sources was conducted, and a comparative analysis of various camouflage patterns was performed based on the differences between monochrome colors.
Findings: It was determined that the MM-14 camouflage pattern, developed for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is an effective universal choice for tasks in forest and steppe areas, but is inferior to samples designed for specific regions.
Theoretical implications: The necessity of adapting camouflage patterns to the specific territories of natural zones has been confirmed.
Practical implications: A comparison of camouflage patterns was made at distances over 400 meters with the color palette of certain areas.
Originality: The historical development of camouflage patterns in Ukraine has been systematically organized for the first time.
Limitations of the research: The comparison of camouflage patterns was conducted for distances over 400 meters. Future studies plan to assess the effectiveness of camouflage patterns at closer distances and in mountainous and urban areas.
Paper type: Historical review with elements of comparative analysis.
