Cross-temporal analysis of the Russian Federation weapons and military equipment losses during the wars on the territory of other states over the last 30 years
Abstract
Purpose: the purpose of the article is to conduct a cross-temporal analysis of the loss of weapons and military equipment of the Russian Federation during the wars on the territory of other states over the past 30 years.
Design/Method/Approach: To achieve the purpose of the study, a search was conducted on the course of wars involving groups of Russian troops, analysis of losses of weapons and military equipment of the Russian Federation, cross-temporal comparison of each military conflict, based on the comparison identified major causes of losses and trends hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
Findings: the article analyzes the magnitude of losses of weapons and military equipment of the occupying forces of the Russian Federation during hostilities in other countries and full-scale invasion of Ukraine
Theoretical implications: It is that the first cross-temporal comparison of the losses of weapons and military equipment of units of the Russian Federation, which fought in other countries and during the invasion of Ukraine.
Practical implications: Collecting, summarizing and systematizing data on the causes of disarmament of weapons and military equipment during hostilities makes it possible to analyze this information in order to prevent, prevent or reduce the negative impact of these factors in the future. The processing of these statistics will provide an opportunity to prepare proposals for determining the required composition of rolling stock for maintenance and repair of weapons and military equipment during operations (combat operations). Also, the availability of generalized data on the amount of losses of weapons and military equipment will provide an opportunity to predict the necessary strategic stockpile of weapons and military equipment for timely replenishment of irreparable losses during defense (counter-offensive) operations (combat operations).
Originality/Value: the value of the study lies in the further need to further analyze the loss of weapons and military equipment of the Russian Federation in Ukraine in the next three months of the war and identify opportunities for military-industrial potential of the Russian Federation to restore lost weapons and military equipment.
Research limitations/Future research: the limitation of the study is the use of publicly available sources. Future research involves taking into account the forces and means of the enemy who is fighting in Ukraine, in order to reduce the negative consequences, which gives us priority areas for greater preservation of forces and means of logistics.
