An Overview of Approaches to Organizing Basic Military Training for Service Members Called up under Mobilization During a State of Emergency
Abstract
Purpose. The purpose of the study is to generalize and analyze contemporary approaches to organizing basic military training of service members conscripted through mobilization during a special period, and to develop a theoretical framework for its advancement.
Method. The study was conducted using systemic, structural-functional, and comparative approaches. The methods of scientific literature analysis, generalization, classification, and theoretical modeling were applied.
Findings. The main approaches to organizing basic military training (institutional, functional, competency-based, and resource-based) were identified. A comparative analysis of these approaches was carried out, and the limitations of their application under conditions of training mobilized service members during a special period were determined. It was established that the system of basic military training is characterized by fragmented governance, uneven resource provision, and variability in training quality.
Theoretical Implications. A conceptual approach is substantiated, according to which basic military training is considered as a process of transforming a civilian into a service member under conditions of limited time and increased performance requirements.
Practical implications. The study identifies directions for improving the organization of basic military training, including enhancing the coherence of its components, improving the quality of the instructor staff, standardizing the training process, and optimizing the use of resources.
Originality/Value. The originality of the study lies in the systematic generalization of approaches to organizing basic military training of mobilized service members during a special period and in the development of an integrated theoretical framework for its advancement.
Future research. Further research should focus on the empirical validation of the proposed provisions and the development of tools for assessing the effectiveness of basic military training.
