Innovative Methods of Hot Meal Provision Under Enemy UAV Threats
Abstract
Purpose. To substantiate innovative methods of providing military personnel with hot meals under combat conditions, taking into account the threats posed by enemy UAVs, particularly through reducing signature exposure and improving logistical efficiency.
Мethod. The study employs a comparative analysis of traditional and innovative feeding methods in field conditions, as well as the generalisation of practical experience from combat units. The research is based on the analysis of regulatory frameworks and the experimental implementation of induction technologies and freeze-dried food products.
Findings. It has been established that the key challenge is the high thermal visibility of traditional cooking methods. The effectiveness of two main approaches has been demonstrated: the use of freeze-dried products, which reduce cooking time, and induction cookers, which significantly decrease thermal signatures. The combination of these solutions enhances mobility, safety, and operational autonomy of military units.
Practical implications. The proposed approaches can be applied to improve the food supply system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, particularly for units operating in high-risk detection environments. The findings have practical value for the development of new field catering technologies.
Research limitations. The limitations are associated with the dependence of induction technologies on stable power supply, limited scalability for large units, and the insufficient amount of long-term empirical data regarding their effectiveness under diverse combat conditions.
